Softneck varieties do not produce a seed stalk. (If your Softneck garlic plant produces a scape it means it is under stress!) Softneck is often the type you find in a grocery store. (Although grocery stores are mostly carrying Chinese grown garlic.) Softneck garlic has a much longer shelf life then Hardneck garlic varieties. Softnecks are also the choice for garlic braids. We use Susanville Garlic for our braids.
All of our seed garlic is grown from organicically grown seed stock and grown with organic principles on our farm here in Champaign County, Ohio. Seed stock is sold by the pound. Unless otherwise noted. Thanks for looking and give us a call if you have any questions!! 937-644-8777.
All of our seed is listed below, or if you are looking for specific hardneck or softneck, they are sorted for your convenience into sub-categories.
Please also note that orders are taken when we harvest each garlic variety, but will not ship to you until the garlic is dried, cleaned and trimmed. Shipping is typically August/September depending on variety. |
